8 Mar 2022 – Iowa Section 8 Voucher Case Before the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals
For several years, there have been continuing legislative debates across the US over whether landlords should be required to accept Section 8 vouchers or, instead, should be permitted to decline to participate in the Section 8 voucher program. At the end of 2021, a US federal district court in Iowa ruled on this type of case in favor of the tenant where the tenant, who is disabled, had requested that the landlord accept the Section 8 voucher as part of her request for an accommodation.
This blog post covers the case in detail.

In January and February of this year, both parties submitted their briefs to the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals. There
will likely be oral arguments in late spring to early summer.
